WHAT: 2008 VSA arts of Wisconsin Call for Art

WHEN:
Deadline for adult artwork submissions: January 22, 2008
Deadline for children's artwork submissions: January 28, 2008

The Dr. Seuss Tree That Winds and Twines Around by Ben Peterson, 2007 CAC Award recipient WHO: Wisconsin children and adult artists are invited to submit original artwork to be reviewed by art professionals who look for originality, creativity and craftsmanship.

DETAILS: Five pieces are selected to be added to VSA's Traveling Adult and Children's Art Exhibits. The traveling exhibits are displayed year-round at corporations, libraries, museums and galleries throughout the state. Click here for more information on the Traveling Exhibits. Additionally, five honorable mention recipients will be selected from both children's and adult submissions.

The five adult award winners receive $400; honorable mentions receive $100. Children's award winners receive a $100 gift certificate for art supplies; honorable mention honorees receive a $50 gift certificate.

VSA artwork stays in the traveling collections for three years, after which it is retired from the traveling exhibits and may be used as recognition gifts or sold by VSA to help support the program.

All artists who submit work to the VSA Call for Art will have at least one piece of their work exhibited in the 2008 Call for Art Entries Exhibit.
