in Education for 2007

musician, writer and supporter

student invited to Washington, D.C., for VSA
arts reception
"My Ab" (pictured; click

Wisconsin in the "All Kids Can ... CREATE," a children's
art exhibition at Union Station in Washington, D.C., May 19-June
8. The work was selected from submissions to a national call for
art issued by VSA arts and CVS Caremark All Kids Can to
advance the role of the arts in inclusive education. Each state
is represented in the exhibit; Ab was one of only 10 selected to
attend the reception in Washington, D.C., in May, 2008. Visit the

Steve Stricker awarded the 2007 Award
for Excellence in Leadership by VSA arts national
office
Each
year, the national VSA arts office
presents awards for excellence in several categories, including
excellence in leadership, which goes to an individual who has
made an exemplary contribution or has been an outstanding champion
for VSA.
The 2007 VSA arts Excellence
in Leadership Award is being awarded to Steve Stricker, PGA
Tour pro golfer who lends his name and time to VSA arts of
Wisconsin each year to help raise funds and awareness for
the VSA Art Center. In the first nine years of the event,
nearly $400,000 has been raised to support Wisconsin artists
with disabilities.
