VSA Art Center Policies

REGISTRATION – Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Sign up early to increase your chances of getting the class you want. Classes cannot be reserved by phone. Participants may ONLY attend classes for which they are registered. VSA Art Center programs are open to ages 16 and up. A late fee of $5 applies to registrations received after the registration deadline.

PAYMENT – Your registration form secures your place in class. Payment may be sent separately. Always include class registration information with payment.

ILLNESS – For the benefit of others, participants should not attend class if experiencing significant coughing or other symptoms of cold/flu.

TRANSPORTATION – You are responsible for scheduling your own transportation. Please schedule transportation ahead of time for EXACT TIMES AND DATES of classes. Participants should arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to class and should arrange transportation for the EXACT time classes are scheduled to end (with understanding of Metro's 20-minute window). **If transportation arrives more than 30 minutes after classes are scheduled to end, class participants will be charged $10 for every additional half-hour (31 minutes = $10; 61 minutes = $20).**

ASSISTANTS – To promote the safety and success of our classes, VSA Wisconsin requires that participants bring an assistant, as needed, to support activities of daily living, class participation, waiting for transportation, etc. There is no fee for an assistant to attend. VSA WISCONSIN RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REQUEST AN ASSISTANT.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY – Please use your best judgement when determining class attendance during inclement weather. Class will be cancelled when Madison schools close due to weather. You will be notified if classes are cancelled for other circumstances.

REFUNDS

  • Complete refunds are made if VSA cancels classes and/or if the class(es) a participant registers for is full.
  • A refund (minus a $10 processing fee) is given if notice of participant withdraw from class is received by the registration deadline.
  • A 50% refund is given if notice of participant withdraw from class is received after the registration deadline but before the start of first class.
  • No refunds will be granted after the start of classes.
  • No refunds will be granted for any classes with registration fees of $10 or less.
  • Classes cancelled due to inclement weather or not attended because a participant feels weather is unsafe are not refundable.

CANCELLATIONS – Classes may be cancelled if VSA Wisconsin's minimum enrollment is not met by the start of class.

CONFIRMATIONS – Class confirmation postcards will be sent approximately one week before classes begin.

NOTICE FOR LATEX ALLERGIES – We make every effort to identify and contain art supplies containing latex. However, please be aware that latex products are used at the VSA Art Center. It is the responsibility of the participant or his/her staff to inform VSA Wisconsin of a allergy.

SMOKE-FREE – The VSA Art Center is a smoke-free environment, including restrooms and common areas.
